After 22 years in recruiting, I became a coach to work more deeply with clients that want to love their work. As a resume writer and job search coach, I help people clarify what they really want, and I coach them to navigate the often frustrating and bewildering territory of the job search itself. There are a number of key components that will make a decisive difference when presenting yourself to a prospective employer, including a compelling resume, a succinct personal value proposition, a memorable cover letter and - last but not least - effective interviewing skills.

I have 22 years of experience as a recruiter for the software industry. I spent the first 5 years at a recruiting agency, where my responsibilities included identifying open job opportunities within the industry, as well as finding the appropriate candidates to fill these positions. I was paid on commission and had to learn quickly how to cater both to the needs of my client companies, as well as the needs and concerns of the job seeker. Later, I moved from agency recruiting to working in-house as a recruiting consultant. I was eager to experience a different perspective on the hiring process. This time, my clients were the hiring managers inside the companies I worked for, and my task was to find them the best candidates for their jobs. I filled positions at all levels of responsibility, from individual contributor to manager to VP, and I covered a wide variety of functional areas, from engineering, marketing, product management, documentation and IT to finance and sales. The last three years of my recruiting career, I worked on staff at Autodesk in San Rafael where I filled positions nationally and internationally. Being an employee revealed yet another layer of the recruiting process. I learned about applicant tracking systems and the process by which an applicant makes it from initial application to receiving a job offer. In addition, I took advantage of the many wonderful training opportunities that Autodesk had to offer. I completed courses in behavioral interviewing, business communication, interpersonal skills, career coaching and leadership.

The most rewarding part of the recruiting process has always been bringing together the perfect candidate with the perfect job. There is something deeply satisfying about helping someone find their dream job, and I look forward to helping you find yours. My job coaching practice is enriched by more than 30 years of spiritual practice, including insight meditation, yoga, transformative dance and a deep commitment to truth, integrity and loving kindness. I am also a certified Feng Shui Practitioner and a facilitator for women’s empowerment retreats.
